2 Timothy 2 Bible School – Love multiplies

Lesson 42 – Level 3

Learn by heart:  In your group and with your children:   Proverbs 4:23-27  Guard your heart more than anything else because the source of your life flows from it. ( teach your children and disciples spiritual discipleship)

A.  2 Timothy 2:2 school is all about making disciples and multiplying yourself in someone else.

  • And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.

B. Make your children your disciples –  Children follow your example, not your advice. “Don’t worry that children never listen to you; worry they are always watching you.”

What lesson are you teaching? You may not know it, but your day-to-day behavior, from the way you work to the tone of your voice, is shaping the way your child will act.

→  Teach your children financial discipleship: The connection between the 5 pots and raising children

  • Proverbs 13:22   A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the sinner’s wealth is laid up for the righteous.

Teach your children biblical stewardship: God owns everything, we are simply managers or administrators acting on his behalf. Stewardship means: Christ owns everything and delegates responsibility. Christ calls us to manage what he created on his behalf. We personally steward resources, saving for the future, for giving to God, helping others, building his church, evangelism …

Luke  22-23 “His master replied, ‘I will judge you by your own words, you wicked servant! You knew, did you, that I am a hard man, taking out what I did not put in, and reaping what I did not sow? 23Why then didn’t you put my money on deposit, so that when I came back, I could have collected it with interest?

→  Train your children discipleship practically in planning and projects: Don’t expect the knowledge in school to make your kids successful people. You must teach and model three things to your children:

1. the right attitude in the heart

2. practical skills

3. knowledge

  9. Don’t despise the value of a child: “At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, ‘Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?’ And calling to him a child,he put him in the midst of them and said, ‘Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:1-3

  13. Praise God for your children (don’t complain about them): “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139: 13-14

  15. Discipline is order not violence: “Discipline your children, and they will give you peace of mind and will make your heart glad.” Proverbs 29:17
  16. Speak carefully with your children: “Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.”  Colossians 3:21
